“Cooking Up Kitchen Competition” via Stockton Record

STOCKTON — In the halls of Franklin High School, a pot of hearty shrimp jambalaya simmered away, while a creamy risotto with herbs and peas was being crafted together in perfect harmony.
Such sumptuous smells often come from five-star restaurants. But on this day, they came from a class where teenagers showed they can cook.
Eleven young chefs, one team from Franklin and the other from Health Careers Academy, are the products of an eight-week long after-school club Teen Battle Chef Competition that is partnered with HealthCorps.
